Swifts Creek Accommodation Services
Swifts Creek is nestled in the heart of theTambo Valley on the South side of the Great Dividing Range approximately half way between Bairnsdale and Mount Hotham. Roughly four hours driving time from Melbourne.
Our accommodation, McMillan's, is the former State Electricity Commission Offices, which have been fully renovated.
We are able to offer both short and long term accommodation in varying formats, from a one bedroom, motel style unit, to a four bedroom unit that can sleep up to 15 people.
Our prices are negotiable and depend on the number of guest and the duration of the stay but our standard double rate is currently $80 per night.
We are located in the centre of Swifts Creek, just a short walk to all the town attractions and the award winning Albion Hotel.
Swifts Creek sits on the banks of the Tambo River and Swifts Creek and is home to an historic wood fire oven built in 1886 in the local bakery.
Once a town known for its timber industry, Swifts Creek and adjoining Cassilis are now well-known hideaways for many talented artists and home to the very successful Great Alpine Gallery which displays art, paintings and sculpture.
Named after a small Scottish township, Cassilis is close by and was once a thriving mining centre and home to some 1000 people.
If you look closely enough you will still find some of the mining relics.
The Tambo Valley includes Bindi and Tongio and is the home of the historic Bindi Station and the Nullamunjie Olive Grove.
